Greek Mythology part 2

Like I said in all about Greek Mythology Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Hestia, and Demeter defeated the Titans. They called themselfs the Olympians. Later there were 14 Olympians including Hestia who gave up her throne. The 14 Olympians are Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Hestia, Demeter, Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Ares, Aphrodite, Athena, Dionysus, and Hephaestus. I am going to make a part on most of them.

Zeus is the king of the gods. He is the god of lightning and the sky. Zeus is one of the most powerful if not the most powerful of the gods. After the gods beat the titans Zeus Poseidon and Hades had a competition of who should rule. Zeus got the sky and was king of the gods. Zeus married Hera and had children such as Athena, Ares, Heremes, Hephaestus, Apollo, Artemis, and Dionysus.

Poseidon is the god of sea and earth shaker. he is one of the most powerful gods and may even be the most powerful. Poseidon married Amphritrite a sea spirit. He is the father of Triton a minor god.

Hades is the god of the underworld. He married Persephone a minor goddess. he is the third most powerful god.

Hera is the queen of the gods. She is the goddess of family and marriage. She doesn’t have any demigod children. She is the Mother of Ares, Hephaestus, and Hebe a minor goddess of youth.

Demeter is the goddess of Agriculture and plants and farming. She is the mother of Persephone. When Hades kidnapped Persephone because he wanted to marry her Demeter got really angry and made all the plants on earth wither and die. Persephone ate 1\3 of a pomegranate so she had to stay 1\3 of the year in the underworld. When Persephone was in the underworld Demeter made all the plants on earth wither and die. Persephone was in the underworld during winter. That’s why we have season’s.

Hestia is the goddess of the hearth and home. She is the oldest of the 6 children of Kronos and Rhea. The six children of Kronos and Rhea are Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter, and Hestia. When Dionysus was made a god Hestia gave up her throne on Mount Olympus for him.
